Two Clubs in Berlin

Just a short description of two clubs in Berlin, showing reuse of space. Think we'll hit up these two when we get there.

Blick auf Berlin

Berghain

The Berghain is located on the border between Kreuzberg and Friedrichshain in a abandon power plant. It’s an enormous building with 18 meter high dance floor and capacity of over 1500 guests. Many clubbers and musicians consider Berghain as capital of techno, what has been expressed in the Top 100 Clubs in the World of “DJ Mag” magazine – Berghain was the winner! That position is absolutely well-earned, because it is representing the old school of techno and minimal – every event is extremely long and the music satisfy even the biggest purists. It’s almost impossible to express the atmosphere, but we think that the best description of Berghain was made by the DJ Jesse Rose: “Entering Panorama Bar is like going back in time to an age when people went out to really party.”
Location:  Am Wriezener Bahnhof, Berlin-Friedrichshai
Arena Club

The Arena Club is located in a hall from 1927, which was the biggest workshop in Europe at that time. Today is being used for other purposes: a concert hall, swimming pool (Badeschiff) and of course music club. Some could say that the location itself isn’t anything special, because there are many more clubs in post-industrial buildings. The difference between Arena and the others is especially in very detailed interior – all the machines are renewed and arranged in the way you just couldn’t imagine, for example you can sit in the lounge inside of a huge pipe. It’s enormous itself, has many dance floors and the music events and the live acts of famous DJs made Arena Club one of the most popular places in Berlin.
Location:  Eichenstr. 4, Berlin-Treptow
